As professionals engaged in providing legal services, business advisory services, and compliance-related services to clients, Themis Law Chambers, including its affiliated partnerships (collectively, the firm) is committed to protecting the privacy of “Confidential” and “Personal Information” (information that directly or indirectly identifies individuals who may be clients, staff, agents, lawyers, law students, job applicants or others inside or outside the firm). “Personal information” means any information that relates to a natural person, which, either directly or indirectly, in combination with other information available or likely to be available with a body corporate, is capable of identifying such a person.

This Privacy Statement and Cookie Policy (collectively, the “Privacy Policy”) is based on the privacy and data protection principles prevalent in India and common to the commonwealth of countries. However, it is clarified that for the purposes of this website that the laws of the Republic of India shall be the Applicable Law. We apply this policy in light of the applicable laws in India, including but not limited to the Information Technology Act, 2000, and I.T. Rules, 2011, to preserve client confidentiality and to represent our clients as effectively as possible within the bounds of the law. In the course of providing legal services to the clients and as provided by visitors to its website and/or users of other internet services, the firm (Themis Law Chambers) collects personal information. Provided that, any information that is freely available or accessible in the public domain or furnished under the Right to Information Act, 2005, or any other law for the time being in force shall not be regarded as sensitive personal data or information for the purposes of these rules.
Security Practices & Procedures and Retention of Information
We maintain reasonable and appropriate, albeit not infallible, physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards intended to maintain the confidentiality of Personal Information, including that provided by a visitor to this website and provided while using other Internet Services. We Do Not Guarantee that our safeguards will always work. We require consultants, suppliers, and vendors to maintain data protections consistent with “Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures” as described in Rule 8 of the ‘Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices And Procedures And Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.
